Travis Elmer Johnson, 91, of Orlando, Florida passed away on November 22, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Travis was born on July 5, 1928 in Vernon, Alabama.
Travis served in the U.S. Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer Personnel Man E7 after 21 years of honorable service.
He belonged to the Florida Chief Petty Officers Association for many years. Travis’s 2nd career after retiring from the Navy, was to become a Marketing Manager at Sun Bank. He then went on to a 3rd career at Ford Motor Company in customer service. He wasn’t finished with his work life and then became a Walmart Greeter before finally hanging up his work hat.
Travis spent 62 years in Florida but was still an Alabama boy at heart.
He was an avid fan of University of Alabama football and life stopped on Saturday afternoons so he could cheer on the team he loved so much.
He will be missed tremendously…… Roll Tide !
He is survived by his loving wife Doris Johnson, his daughter, Wanda Rumbaugh, son in law Steve Rumbaugh, granddaughters, Andrea Leinfelder and Amy Rumbaugh.
